Within their first year, the owners were honored jointly by the Howard County Chamber of Commerce and the Foreign-Born Information and Referral Network (FIRN) and awarded the Emerging Success Award. This honor is given to a foreign-born business owner experiencing strong growth and making a positive impact on the community.
This casual restaurant is a perfect reflection of the Flores' personalities: Authentic Mexican, laid-back, and very down-to-earth. The food attracts many cultures equally. At any given time, you can hear Spanish-speaking immigrants enjoying Cactus & Eggs, while businessmen talk shop over Tacos and Quesadillas. From Shrimp Soup on weekends to the Daily Specials, there's something for everyone at El Nayar.
El Nayar is named after the Flores' hometown of El Nayar in Nayarit, Mexico, a beautiful state on the west-central coast of Mexico, where farmers, surfers, and miners peacefully coexist.
Every dish at El Nayar is true to these roots.
